In an emergency if becalmed, or the water available may be unsafe, drinking water is produced by simply clipping the electric motor on to your Waterlog. It will remove not only salt from the seawater, but if properly cared for, it also removes bacteria, pryons and pathogens.
Just hang it in the water beside the vessel from the boom. Avoid using in very polluted waters as the filters may become fouled in a short time necessitating very frequent cleaning which could become tiresome. Please note:-Since their introduction early 2002, there has been a large demand for these motors as retrofit accessories. There is currently a waiting list of four to six weeks. 24 volt versions are available to special order.
